Just in case anyone's interested...this is a link to a video explaining the experiment that was performed by the psychologist Harry Harlow. I don't know the exact psychological evaluation of the experiment, nor what Harlow was attempting to prove specifically, but I thought it could be interpreted such a way as to understand why certain cultural norms perpetuate although someone has not directly come in contact with the negative result that the norm claims to prevent. Anyone agree? Disagree?
